Hello all, it has been awhile since I was on here. I have a 2010 Harley sportster 883, is has a Ural sidecar. The front in is original and stiff, it is hard to turn. My wife has had hand and shoulder surgeries and I need to redo the front end to make sure it is easier for her to steer. I am not sure What type of triple tree to get and if I need extend tubes or how long. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Dennis.... you're back. Got any Sourdough bread for us ? 😋

Hopefully someone with a Sportster will be along soon, to give you their experience.

Try checking with Texas Sidecar Company...TSC/DMC....in Donie, Texas, or with Hannigan Motorsports in Murray, Kentucky to ask them what you need.

I suspect that you will need trail reducing triple trees, which are easy to install on a Sportster.

Would you like them in alloy color?

or in black?

A quick search on Google (Sporster trike triple tree) is very interesting...I wish some of my sidecars/bike could have this choice !!!!

4 degrees is acceptable. Typically you want between 4 to 6 degrees.

Hi Dennis:  We installed 5° trees from Hawg Halters on our 2002 883R Sportster with very good results.

No, we didn't install longer forks --- just re-used the stock fork legs with no ill effect, other than perhaps a little lost ground clearance.

Very often raked triple trees come with tube(s) extension(s). HD (big twins mainly) have a tendency to get too low when raked (found out on my Softail), you should try it first and see how the rig feels and react with or without the extension(s).
