I have an03 gl1800 ABS I am waiting on my champion side car and I have ordered it with brakes, my question is will I still have ABS brakes?
Since ABS is configured with a solo bike from the factory it should be disconnected with a sidecar rig.
You will now have completely different braking characteristics.
Don't know about anyone else but after 56 years of riding i now prefer a bike with abs with the exception of dirt riding allfour of my bikes have abs one a trike,solo,the other two sidecar rigs. 1800 wing andsiver wing and the braking is fabulous on the side cars
My '04 R1200C Montauk came with ABS and I have kept them intact even with the Champion Escort disk sitting out in the right lane. I would not give up the ABS for love or money, well maybe love or money. But when you really nead to pull that sucker down, ABS is the way to go. No sliding around corners, but at my age, staying on the saddle is a challenge. I am not a racer. You shouldn't be one also. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
