Does anyone have any thoughts on the 1999 BMW 1100 GS with a Ural sidecar attached.

The bike has 48,000 miles and appears to be well maintained. I understand that the rear bearings may be a problem when a sidecar is attached as they are not designed for the sideloads of a sidecar.

Lots of power, plenty of adventure accessories,
Looks like a winner from here.

We have done over 1000 GS sidecar rigs, we may have built this one or at least sold the sidecar as we build a lot with the Ural disk brake wheel. The wheel bearings leave a lot to be desired with these wheels as there is enough play that when you go around a corner the brake rotor often moves enough to push the pistons for the caliper back making it so you have to pump the brakes. The final drives do not seem to go out any more with or with out the sidecar, when it does we would run the final drive from the R850R.
I own and ride GS sidecar bikes, they work out well.

Thanks Jay,

Just the kind of input that I was looking for.

This bike has 48,000 miles and appears to be well kept.
