Still looking for a sidecar and found this one locally..1980 MOTORVATION SIDECAR ROADSTER this car has no brakes though....knowing nothing about sidecars is this really bad??? I want to put it on a 2003 Suzuki 1500 Intruder....Gary at Motorvation says he has mounts that will work but I wanted to ask people who drive rigs all the time if I need brakes on the car......my Zuki has single disk brake on the rear and dual on the front...Thanks Steve

I've never owned one with brakes, and never felt the need to have them. I think you'll be fine, especially with something like your Intruder.

I have a V-star 1100 with a sidcar and pull a trailer. No brakes on the sidecar. I leave a little extra room with that much weight, but never had any prombles.

I have a BMW K100 with a large 2001 Motorvation FII and no brakes..I never miss them. Loaded car and bike stops great without the SC brake.
never used brakes on last 2 SC's.had them on 2.

Doug Bingham advised me not to add a sidecar brake. I didn't and he was right. The rig stops fine without one.

I think it's great. My wife finds it comfortable, though she's still bugging me for a Goldwing and Hannigan.
I got the mounts and subframe from www.Dauntlessmotors.com, Jay is a great guy to deal with and will have about anything you need. I tried a couple other shops around the country and they all told me they would have to order it from their supplier in Washington State, so I just went to him myself.
