Need ideas for putting a sidecar on this bike, i.e. sub frame required or not, battery, front end of bike changes or not, brake system, best sidecar to put on. Thanks, Brian

A sidecar can be installed without a sub-frame but the preferred method is with one. The stresses will be distributed more evenly.
The bike battery is usually sufficient unless extra loading is added. A HD turn signal flasher might be needed if the car has turn signals. An auto barrery can also be used placed in the sidecar.
Some prefer a sidecar brake, some do not (I do not) , either linked to the bike or independent.
Best sidecar is one that matches the size/weight/power of the bike. Many use the Velorex models or the M72 BMW replicas if they want a retro look and a steel sidecar (URAL, Chang Jiang, or Dnepr). The Russian Sputniks are also steel but somewhat primitive in fit and finish. Most all of these cars come with /2 BMW mounts that must be adapted to the later Beemers.
