I just bought a 1941 harley 74 flathead with a left handed side car. As far as I can tell the bike was shipped to south africa in 1941 and this May 21 it Should arive in the states for the first time in over 60 years!
I am excited about it but know much about it. Anybody out there know how many left hand big twin sidecars were made in 1941? Any other info?

Thanks Scot

I would imagine there were quite a few military rigs that were sent to England, or for the British or Australian use during the second world war
by virtue of the Lend Lease Plan. These would have been left handers.
Rommell had his Beemers and Montgomery had Triumphs, BSAs and Harleys.

If the US govt had picked up one of the Harley or Indian drive shaft prototypes (instead of building the Jeep), think how different motorcycling might be today. I'm convinced that MotoGuzzi got the idea for their engine from Indian.
