OK I have a 1983 GL1100 with a unit leading link I want to put a 16 inch wheel from a 1985 Aspencade on it. Can I do this and does anyone know what I would have to do?
The reason for this is so I can run a tire from Dauntles on it.
Thanks for any help with this

John,
Sorry to see you got no response here. I am not going to helpo you much either though..lol. If the stock wheels will interchange on the stock bikes I would think it would work on the leading link too. However, brake calipers may be an issue or maybe soemthing else. You may want to ask th equestion on one of the goldwing lists or yahoo groups. Those guys may know. I can say that with some modifications th eanswer would be yes anyhow but how much of a project it would be in another queation.
Another thing to think of is that if you are referring to Jay's Twin tires they are getting to be in limited supply according to Jay. You may want to call Dauntless on that.

I changed front wheels on my '85 V65 Sabre for the same reason, to run 16" twin tire.

I swapped out the stock Sabre wheel and used a 16" Honda Interceptor wheel. I had to switch the rotors also since the 16" wheel rotors were thicker and smaller in diameter.

No problems at all.

Unit front ends were designed to use stock components such as axles and calipers. If the wheels swap on a stock front end I see no reason they wont swap on the Unit.
