Please join us for an East Texas lunch ride for us sidecarists and friends set for May 22nd, 2010. Plans are to meet at 11:00am at the 7th Street Restaurant in downtown Cushing, Texas. You might need a map to find it -- Northwest of Nacogdoches and South of Henderson at the intersection of SH204 & FM225 -- and just North of Looney-ville.
Per www.texasmonthly.com/food/dining/cushing (January 2009): The 7th Street Restaurant may be partly responsible for keeping Cushing alive and kicking. Located in a row of mostly abandoned century-old storefronts in Cushing’s former business district, the locally famous chow parlor puts out the basics with flair. The chicken-fried steak is a must, and under no circumstances may you pass up the creamy, East Texas—style potatoes, mashed with the peels on. Leave room for homemade pie and time to study the impressive wall of license plates, which appears to represent all fifty states (and a number of foreign countries). 😮

We had a good drive/ride today and a great lunch and wonderful fellowship. Our thanks to the sole waitress and the 2 cooks that worked hard the feed the 22 people that rode in on 10 rigs and 9 solo bikes.
