2004 Honda Goldwing Gl1800A with DMC sidecar

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/d/moraga-2004-honda-goldwing-gl1800a-with/7809332502.html

Needs a little spit and polish.

Seating is ... undefined.  I don't see one in the tub and the bike needs the new cover to be attached for real.

No mention of steering mods.

Cool pop-up rear rack.

But with only 70K miles and being a "newer" generation $4500 seems cheap.

Looks like PlastiDip on the car.  Not pretty.

Price isn't bad, though for an 1800.

First,  thank you  Drew for posting  any sidecar rig  for  sale.

Whilst the  price for this '04 Honda Goldwing  1800 rig is low, buyers should  still use  caution on this rig. For those  with a  really limited  budget, if you  buy this  rig be prepared to  put another  2 to 3 grand into it,  just to make it  road ready and road safe.

From my perspective,  as the self appointed  Honda Goldwing  expert here, I  see more things wrong with this  bike, than I see things that are  right.

It may very well be  worth  checking out,  and even  buying,  with eyes wide open.

Don't let the  low mileage  fool you.  I have seen  these with 500,000 miles on the  odometer that  still run great, and seen them with 70,000 miles on the  odometer that run like a  1948 Farmall tractor that  has never been  maintained.

I really like the  '04 Goldwings,  but have concerns about this one.

EDIT:  Having e-mailed back and forth with this seller this morning, I would strongly advise...RUN.....RUN in the other direction, and do NOT even think of looking at this bike. It is an ABS model, which he has disconnected the ABS (?????), and he had trail reducing triple trees on it, but he found when he disconnected the sidecar from the bike....gee...for some reason the bike didn't handle very well at 80 mph. He had to remove the original rear trunk, because he damaged it, then installed this foldable trunk, in place of the rear seat, so...the original seat of the bike had to go too, so he covered that area with a plastic cover, like a plastic table cloth, then sprayed it with Plasti-Dip.

RUN....in the other direction.  Scared

Sounds like this one needs to be viewed as a project. For more experienced folks there's an (admittedly rough) foundation with several usable pieces.  The tub on that is fun looking.

@miles-ladue did he say if he still had the trail reducing triple trees?

This is why we have two different rig for sale sections

The Complete Rigs For Sale section (usually) has rigs owned by members and there is a higher level of trust afforded them.

This section is anything else found on the Internet and is buyer be aware.

The best advice for folks new to sidecars is found all over this site.

Buy a complete rig that has been well set up as your first rig.
