workout
Kathy and I just moved to Prescott Valley Az from Michigan. Not too many mountains in Michigan. Any hill 80-100 ft is called a mountain and they put a ski resort on it. Sunday we took our V-Star 1100 Texas/Ural tub rig over the mountain to Jerome. About 15 miles of 2nd and 3rd gear ups and downs with 15-30 mph turns.
Best upper body workout I had in a while so I didn't feel so guilty about the big gooey cheeseburger at the mile high cafe.
Looking to do the whole of 89A up thru Oak Creek canyon soon, and 89 south of Prescott is pretty turny as well.
Great rig and great roads!

Alan, Have you modified the front end of the bike to steer lighter? This will help with the "work out" We have triple tree's for this bike in stock that we purchased from a company a few years back they were suppose to be 100% bolt on however it turned out not to be the case, The front end gets converted to a wider look. We would sell these for $450. There are other companies that may have tree's for your bike and at least one company that can modifiy your triple tree's

Hi Jay
I don't have any complaints about the handling. I was just contrasting the flat roads of Michigan with the curvy mountain roads of my new home. Compared to my actual workout, riding the bike as is a breeze.
You are definetly the go to guy for this stuff though.
Thanks

Hi Alan, Oak Creek Canyon is beautiful. You will enjoy that ride. Lot's of good riding in Prescott and the surrounding areas. Desert, mountains, flat, straight, curves......you got it all in Arizona.
Do we ever. Last ride was out Iron Springs road all the way to Skull Valley. Beautiful road and great scenery. Elevation went up to over 6000 ft then back to 5000. Amazing temp changes with the mountain views. Riding these roads on a sidecar rig just at the speed limit is a thrill.

Two Canadian Buds and myself are heading into AZ in two weeks. Our only agreed destination is Tombstone. After that, whatever comes to mind. We usually cover 5 to 10 States in our runs. It will probably mean Southwestern States only this tour since the Northwest can get pretty stormy in May. We'll save the Northern climes and Colorado for summer runs.
Right now my Canuck pals from the Vancouver, BC area just need to dry out for a week or so to get the rust out of their joints.
Lonnie
Lonnie,
You and your friends will certainly dry out in AZ. In a couple of weeks you will most certainly hit triple digits. I live in Bullhead City, AZ. It is across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada. If you and your friends get out this way to play on the river and gamble at Laughlin (5 mins from me), give me a call. You are more than welcome to stop by here. It isn't the Ritz but you will have what you need.

Shanda,
I used to have friends who lived in Bullhead City (part time). A group of Harley riders who called themselves "Bullheads".
We won't be hanging out in Laughlin, we made the Laughlin River Run in '02 and that was enough for me, but if we roll through Kingman on I-93 I'll try to give you a call.
Lonnie
Lonnie,
Haven't heard of the Bullheads, but there are so many groups these days. Have a safe and wonderful trip.
Shanda
Lonnie, I live in Kingman. My wife and I met Shanda and Dave during the River Run this year. Really nice people! I believe we may have met you during the Lake Chelan Sidecar Rally in 2010. If you do go through Kingman on your way to other places you and your group are welcome to stop by. Chris Patrick, 253-459-2424
