can sidecar be setup without any wobble. I mean, no hands, no wobble.
Seems like everything on my bike feels good, no pull no push, tire wears
good and as long as I have a hands on feels good, but as soon as i take hands off wobble wobble.
Is this normal?

Ride hands on. Or at least one hand on to control your rig (just like you do with your cage).

was not planning to ride with no hands. I was just wondering if it was a setup problem
or it is normal

I agree with the otier posters who recommend not riding hands off.

Having said that, if you are feeling wobble with hands on, it's usually at low speed. Nonetheless, it could be from one or more causes:

1. Loose, worn, burnelled fork head bearings.

2. Wrong tire pressure.

3. Cupped front tire due to wrong tire pressure.

4. Misalignment of the sidecar.

I use a steering damper on my Harley Ultra with TLE sidecar rig. I don't have any wobble, however.

I'm not sure if a set of modified triple trees can remove wobble or not. Someone else can comment on that.

I recall that on the 1500 Goldwings, even when they were solo, there was often a problem with low speed wobble due to cuppng of the front tires. Cupping is common on motorcycles with soft front suspension and heavy gross weight like Goldwings. This can be improved with different front springs (Progressive, for one) and many who install sidecars on Gokldwings or other large bikes change front springs and rear shocks to improve handling. I don't know if the 1800 Goldwings had the wobble issue.

Good luck.

On my RK/TLE rigs I've kept the stock steering damper mount and used it as a driving light mount since the damper was no longer needed after installing Liberty 5 degree raked trees.

Good explanation, and I feel better now...I have a 2006 Ultra Classic which I just married a 2005 TLE Ultra side car to, and I was afraid that the wobble was a set up problem...I never ride without hands, just wondered the same as the earlier poster...it doesn't wobble with my hands on the grips, except on the bumpy, unreasonably poor NJ roads. Further, I am glad to know that as a new "hacker" I have a forum for help, as I have noticed from other posts that I am not alone in the "noncalant, I wash my hands...you're on your own" attitude at the various HD Dealers around here, especially now that they are no longer making side cars...trikes just don't do it for me or my wife who has a bad back...hence the investment in the car. Thanks...I have other questions of my own, and plan to post a thread related to it...
