No problems with the late model $$$ chrome plated ones.
The old black painted, pitted aluminum and rust ones are just like the current Dnepr wheels. That is with rough grinding marks at the bad fitting joint and a somewhat oblong appearance when spun, with widely varying run out and spoke tension.

I've got one Chrome 18" w/3.50 Hiway and one Chrome 19" w/4.00 Highway.
both new URALS, both for sale.

About 3 years ago I had all wheels on my 2000 Deco rebuilt with stainless steel hardware. Buchanon's in CA, USA did the work. Very expensive, but they'd done quality work for me in the past. (The original spokes had corroded stuck-fast to the nipples and many could no longer be adjusted).

I rebuilt a '98 Tourist this time last year (which I now run solo with forks) and its spokes were in the same condition. Instead of shipping the wheels off to Buchanon's again, I decided to save some $ and bought two brand new 19" rims with tires from Ural! This time I'm maintaining a thin coat of WD-40 on the Ural spokes/nipples so they will (hopefully) remain adjustable over the years....

I did the same with my Dnepr. Just pull a bearing out of the Ural and one out of the junk yard rim. Carry both to an auto parts house and tell them, "I need two with this outer size and this inner". http://webpages.charter.net/thelake/Sidecars.htm
