We had been looking around at sidecars, complete rigs, etc., you know, maybe someday, don't want to give up the solo, all that, but, wouldn't it be fun. . .

Then, a week ago, Heritage H-D in Concord, NH listed a matched-from-the-factory rig, with a 2000 Road King tug, 5,000 miles, stunning condition, basically all stock. Whoever got there first was going to buy it, and thankfully, that was me! I traded my 2007 Road King Police, had the dealer strip off my SuperTrapp mufflers, SE airbox, radios, GPS mount, rear racks, everything, took delivery right then, spent about 15 minutes practicing in the parking lot, and rode it home. Did I say it was "all stock"? Well, I ordered triple clamps from Pete at Liberty Sidecars. I work out with weights, and I can shovel dirt all day long, but really, nothing should handle that badly. So, here we are. Already getting requests for parade duty, and everybody wants a ride. . . but not until I get those new triple clamps in!

New sidecar rig

i put a liberty tree on mine too - really nice bit of machine work

i have a ultra and i do run the dampener

for years i ran about 75 lb of wt in the sidecar trunk - but as time goes on i dont need it any more i have a good feel for when im going too fast

i am currently running a 500r16 radial car tire on the rear - but the harley tire handles just fine - but they wear out quick

i have been very happy with my hd hd set

Congratulations on a beautiful rig. Please keep us up to date on your adventures. And, yes, the modified trees are GRRRREAAT!! as Tony the Tiger used to say.

ive been convinced for quite a few years that the basic issue with hd sidecar sales was the lack of a raked tree

they can be configured for a specific road crown and drive very nice - and at slower speeds its not a issue - but at 70 on the freeway when you go to drive in the left lane its ugly

with a raked tree its nice to drive no matter what road you are on

Liberty Triples arrived on Thursday. Fork tubes are back on, everything's waiting to be torqued. Lunchtime. If they work half as well as they're made, they'll be worth it many times over. The old phrase "custom parts customarily do not fit" does not apply here. Everything has gone together beautifully, including having the (lubed) fork tubes just slide right into place. It's also nice working on something so immense that you can thread the controls and cables between the fork tubes and the steering head! I'll update once I'm finished.
