Am curious about Velorex serial numbers - are they a straight series of numbers or alpha numeric? I see the number 25C238 on my sidecar, but the C could be a 6 - a portion of which may have been filled during a paint job by a previous owner??? Am also curious to know how old this sidecar would be?

They use numeric #s on a sticker plate located on the inside rear frame gusset. Right above that should be the same number stamped into the frame on the gusset.
256XXX is probably in the middle '90's.
Got pix of the sidecar? May be able to get closer date.

Thanks Lonnie.

The number I'm quoting is from the frame. I think I'd have to use some thinner or paint remover to clean up the plate in order to make it legible. Photos of the sidecar are found here: http://web.me.com/drifter/Site/Velorex.html#0 Here it's seen as it was when I picked it up last summer.
