tuning Motorvation suspension
I instlaled a motorvation sidecar for a fellow recently. First time I've worked with their product. The torsion bar suspension is slick, but awfully soft. Is there any way to stiffen that up a bit? If it was a coil over shock design I'd just crank up the preload. The motorvation design allows for adjustments to lean out easily but nothign to adjust the stiffness at all. WOW is it squashy right now!
I have BMW K100 with MV FII SC.
leave the suspension alone... it is great.
My wife loves the comfortable ride, it corners like a sports car...no lifting or wallowing.
also do not fill SC tire any more than 20 pounds.
If really needed, install a swaybar ...talk to Claude on the SCT site.
If the Formula II has electric lean, that's quite different than the Spyder. Wheel placement, auto wheel/tire vs cycle, track width, all make the Spyder and Formula II cars handle differently.

Gee, thanks for nothing, guys.
I said, its too soft. I did not ask if you thought it was too soft, I have the bike right here, I have the sidecar right here, I have mated the two, and . . . .(wait for it . . . .The sidecar suspension is too soft.
Yes, he will ride it as it is, but its too soft, get it?
Its to damned soft.
"Its not too soft" is not an answer, its arguing what the problem is. Or more accurately, its telling me that there is no problem, when I, who am right here riding the rig, can clearly see and feel that there is an issue.
OK, so there is no way to stiffen up a Mororvation Engineering torsion bar suspension, thats fine. If he decides that it bothers him too much he can cough up for a fresh torsion bar unit. Maybe this one is worn out, or he can have me modify the suspension to add a coil over shock for added adjustability.
did you read my reply?
I said on the end....
"If needed install a swaybar..see Claude on the SCT site".
a swaybar will make the SC and bike suspension handle as one unit.
Claude can explain better.
