Tipi Tour 2011
Adventure Sidecar Tipi Tour 2011
The Adventure Sidecar Tipi Tour took place August 19-26, 2011
Friday afternoon we set up camp at the bottom of a canyon in the mountains just West of Hood River
Ellie made us lamb shish kabobs for dinner, with fresh organic lamb from Sakura Ridge
The Tipi Tour included an Advanced S/TEP Class. After dinner we did the classroom presentation, using a tipi door for a projector screen
After class we relaxed around the campfire
…before turning in for the night
We stayed up a little late Friday night and so arose a little later Saturday morning Ellie whipped up a hearty meal of hashbrowns, ham and eggs.
After breakfast we rode down to the range to finish up the Advanced S/TEP class
After lunch we rode up to a reservoir to cool off and relax
Back at camp, Ellie and Monica were preparing dinner: Chicken and potatoes with fresh biscuits!
After dinner we bedded down in primitive comfort
Sunday we settled into the routine we would follow the rest of the week:
Eat
Ride
Eat some more
and Relax
We enjoyed a constant stream of entertaining visitors
Friday morning we awoke to thunder and lightning(this storm sparked the huge wildfires still burning on Mt.Hood 3 weeks later).
We had coffee and breakfasted, snug in the Tipi
The storm broke and the sun came out
drying things off as we struck camp,
concluding the Tipi Tour

LAST CHANCE Adventure Sidecar Novice S/TEP class October 14-16, 2011
Our last scheduled S/TEP class Sept 30-Oct 2 has filled up. Several folks contacted me, disappointed to have missed taking the class this year, so I am adding a Novice S/TEP class for the weekend of October 14-16. Cost is $265. An additional $100 will get you a berth in the tipi Friday and Saturday night. I haven’t gotten this up on the Community Education calendar yet, so contact me directly at info@adventuresidecar.com” if you are interested in this.
Great Pics! Looks like a good time.
Thanks for posting 'em...

OK, tell us about those little coffee makers. ?
Hi Mike!
I had brought a 40 cup coffee boiler so everyone could get a couple of cups of hot coffee first thing in the morning.
Alas, my comrads had not developed a taste for cowboy coffee and prefered to wait for the little one cup campfire expresso makers to work their magic. I have had these for years. You can still get them at REI and probably through other camping outfitters
