The responsibility of the reader

You're right Al, trying to capture all the knowledge that is shared is a monumental task, I know, I tried it back in the early 2000's with the posts at the Sidecar Talk (SCT) website. At that time the site was very active and receiving a couple hundred posts a day. I read through thousands of posts to capture information on 45 different subjects (GROUPS). Some of the subjects had to be broken down into sub-sections to make finding information easier. As new Sidecarists come into the world of sidecars, many of the same questions are asked over and over. The knowledge Base was an attempt to provide a starting point to answer these questions, before they were repeated again, and again. Although this information is 16 years old, most of it probably still applies, what may change it somewhat is the advancement in technology that is blowing past us at an alarming rate. Those getting into sidecars can still find this information at the SCT website in the Files Section under the title "Sidecar Talk 2 Knowledge Base, Revision 2-21-03. The Sidecar Talk 2 Knowledge Base, is a library of files and articles on subjects that have come up for discussion through the Sidecar Talk 2 Posts. As with any library of information, an index is needed so the information can easily be filed and retrieved. Below is listed the index of subjects that has been established at this time. When one is looking for information, they should always start with the index to narrow down the field of search.

For consistency, the titles in the Knowledge Base Index will also be the File Folder titles. To save space in the File Folder titles, the words Group and Section will be eliminated but implied. Bruce, I signed up for the group because I'd like to read up more on your info, but I do find the downloading of individual files cumbersome. Is there a way to download a whole folder and browse the files locally on my computer? I've not really used Yahoo Groups before. Thank you again for all your efforts to put this together.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I don't get to check the posts as often as I use to.

You are not the first one to make this request, it was discussed way back in 2003. I have the Knowledge Base stored in five Folders, 1.36MB, 1.6MB, 1.29MB, 2.32MB, and 317KB for a total of 6.9MB. So far I have not been able, and I don't even know if it is possible to copy and send by email, a Folder. Back in 2003, there were many members that used a telephone dial up service, and even if I could email a folder, it would be too large to be practical to email to them. We may not have as many members using the phone dial up service today, but I'm sure there are some and we still need to consider their needs.

Back in 2003 it was suggested to load the Knowledge Base on a CD and offer it to the members for a nominal fee. For all the effort and cost it would take to create and mail CD's, how many would be willing to pay for something they can already get for free?

Unless someone can show me how to attach a Folder to an email, I am only able to attach and send each individual File, and that is what can already be done from the Website.

As one of the newest members and still without a rig, I love the fact that you're all here providing valuable information that will help ensure I do my best while learning to ride with a sidecar. It may all even save my life and my wife's. I've been riding two wheels (with an engine - LoL) since I was 7. That is 48 years but I know just from reading here and other sites that I'm in for a learning curve. I've always been a feet first kind of guy and I've wanted a rig for many years so I just decided to get it done. I have the mule, 2017 Triumph Bobber, and the hack is being built by Watsonian-Squire. I'm hoping to have it here in 6 weeks. Please keep it all coming and I'll be sure to search before asking and take all that I find with a grain of salt. BtW, anyone near New Orleans? I sure would like to ride with an experienced rig driver. P.s. - I'm keeping my Roadglide.
