Could iconic police motorcycle sidecars be taking their final rides?

I notice the author of the article knows zilch about sidecars.
He mentions that their are two (2) extra wheels (?) with a sidecar.

Good for Pete and Patty. The Liberty looks a hell of a lot better than the TLE banana.
