I just talked to a friend of mine that sells and installs sidecars and he told me BIG difference in setting up a HD sidecar and others. His shop name is Wark Shop as his last name is Wark. He is in Ohio and I am in Georgia. He all so directed me to another friend that has a HD sidecar who is all so close to me and suggested I talk to him. Yes I do not think the HD sidecar changed a lot in the past 50 years or longer LOL. Sorry if we got off topic but some great information and I thank all for the input.

Bob Wark is a great guy. Not a bad painter either...lol. If you are in Georgia you may want to google the Georgia Sidecar Club.

I have been up to visit Bob and his wife Nancy twice in the last 7 years. I go up that way when I can to visit friends and family. Been up that way about 5 times in the last 7 years on my motorcycle and once in the car as my mother was with me. I was born on 1214 Macon Ave. Pittsburgh PA and in 1968 moved to Macon, GA.

My good friend I have know for over 35 years and rode with to Alaska and back in 2005 is the president of the Georgia Sidecar Club James Allmond. For years he blamed me for him riding Harley s and now I blame him for this sidecar ordeal. LOL
Thanks

Thanks Claud for the clarification. I was beginning to wonder If I was way off the mark somehow but knew my Liberty would be headed for the woods with a half degree lean in.

Thanks Claud for the clarification. I was beginning to wonder If I was way off the mark somehow but knew my Liberty would be headed for the woods with a half degree lean in.

Just remember to lean left to go left and right to go right and recheck toe in after doing any lean adjustments.
On a Harley Davidson sidecar ,or any sidecar with no suspension, there is no compression of the sidecar suspension at all (due to there not being any suspension) when you mount the bike and/or a passenger gets into the sidecar. This is why some HARLEY/Harley outfits do well with static lean in of the bike instead of lean out.
There can be much discussion about how much lean out is 'correct' with any outfit as we have seen here on the net many times. However what is 'corect' for one outfit inclding rider, passenger and load carried may be different than on another outfit or even the same outfit with different circumstances in play.
A sidecar with a stiff supension compared to the bike will be different than a rig with a stiff suspension on th ebike compared to the sidecar.
These variables are why some items such as electric tilt adjustors and antiswaybars are a plus to sidecar operation. A swaybar will compensate for varying loads. An electric tilt adjustor will allow the operator to compensate for varying conditions with a flick of switch when on the move. These features can make an outfit much easier to handle for those who may not want to commit to a trail reducer deal. With a trail reducer they are still a big plus as well.
All things any of us do as far as setup goes will always be a compromise. The trick is to get the compromise as narrowed down as possible for you and your most common driving situations. The accessories mentioned above will allow one to narrow down their original compromises better when under way.

I received my HD 2006-2009 sidecar manual today. I glade to see for 2006 all the parts and information are the same for my 02 Ultra from what I can tell comparing with my 02 Ultra parts book. Now the wiring may differ some but will not be a problem to figure out I hope. I know I need a roll over switch where the 03 and later do not.
