Sidecar enthusiasts and friends from GA, LA, TX & NM gathered on November 3-5, 2023, for the Bunkie Boucherie in South Central Louisiana.

Several of us visited Budden's Store in Palmetto, a busy place on Friday afternoon during the sugar cane harvest.

After a hearty breakfast of sausage, eggs and grits on Saturday morning, we rode some winding backroads to visit the Southern Forest Heritage Museum in Long Leaf, Louisiana.

Where we were treated to a ride on the M4 railbus - powered by a flathead Ford V8 and operated by volunteer Gerald.

On our return ride we stopped by the Trinity Church on the Bayou Boeuf in Cheneyville, constructed in 1861.

Jena and I stopped by the McNabb Music Co. in Bunkie, which, unfortunately, was closed.

After playing a few sidecar games involving cornholes, blindfolds and little piggies, we were treated to Cochon de Lait by our hosts, Larry & Barbara, and the cooks, Chris, Lauren & Trey.

A big thanks to our hosts, Larry and Barbara, for an outstanding weekend of travel, fun, food & fellowship (and ordering the great weather so far in advance.)

P.S.  Our host at the Southern Forest Heritage Museum, Carla, commented how we seemed to be like "a big family."
