Talk me out of it.
New guy here. I bought a '83 magna1100 for $200. Needs work. Eventually I'll try to get it running. The motor spins on the starter, brake hyd+ clutch hyd frozen, you know the routine.
Anyway, I'm getting a odd urge to hack the thing which is weird because I've never driven a sidecar or wanted one.
The bike's so big, ugly, and powerful it seems like the thing to do.
No timeline, got to get it running first.
Those early V65's make killer tugs. Gobs of horsepusher.
Here's a couple examples of mine.

Opposite:
It is never too late to start to get infected by the sidecar virus. but read the manuals in the download section carefully.
It is a whole new world and has nothing to do with solo riding.
What would life be worth if you wouldn't be nuts?

Summer begins and I have a new work horse to break in its engine...Juhuuu Mountains here I come!

Lonnie, lovely bob cat, will he ride too?
My cats only pose and enjoy the sun on the rig, just the dogs ride and love it.

Shorts, my shop cat, passed on a while back. She liked the rigs and the noise but just liked sleeping in and on, not riding. Her successor "Trouble" loves to do the same and we have to check out any leaving vehicle to be sure he's not aboard.

If I have to start ferrying cats around I'll have to kibosh the sidecar. I can't get any peace here at home due to the furry little itchers.
The front of this Magna is pretty chopped out will I need to reverse the fork legs to get it to steer?

That's a sweet looking rig. Does it steer OK. The one with the utility box looks like the coffin rig in that Aussie biker movie "Stone"
My magna is not quite as clean.
Did it need that steering damper?
It does need the damper. Most of the Jap cruisers need them with heavier sidecars.
