Steerable Sidecar
Ok newb num question #2, is there such a thing and if so is there an advantage and what problems/difficulties are involved in set-up ?
Again, if there is such a type are any makes/brands better than others ?
Would you have one ?
Thanks again š š
I have seen some attempts but don't know how well they worked.

Are you talking about an actual steered wheel on the sidecar or a "leaner" sidecar?
I'm not sure what you mean by a "steerable sidecar". Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley North Carolina has an antique Harley Davidson that you operate from the sidecar. It has pedals and the handle bars are offset so you can reach them while sitting in the sidecar. Iām not sure who the targeted customer was but it is a cool piece of American history..
The Liberator sidecars had a steerable (turning) sidecar wheel but many had problems with it. There were lawsuits about the problems in the past. I don't know if, or how, they were resolved
A trail modification on the bike front forks eliminates the hard steering problems that a steerable sidecar wheel would provide relief from. A well engineered setup would provide longer tire life, but would longer tread life offset the extra cost?

Ok I did some prior research and was seeking confirmation, ( the research showed what Hackn said )..I am curious now IF this rig IS ONE of the Liberator cars in question type Liberator cars or are all Liberators a source of " irritation ", again I am a newb and only point to this rig to learn....
Who makes/made Liberators ?
Do they still make them ?
Would you want one IF you could >make it work< ?
Note the rig has a leading link.......and the rig looks nice.....

steerable sidecars do exist, a french company called sidebike makes several models, the ones that i have seen have been hi performance rigs, the sidecar wheel and bike front wheel are linked and the sidecar wheel steers in the direction that the bike front wheel is pointed, i rode in one 11 years ago, it went around corners left or right like it was sitting on rails.
