I purchased a used Spider (2006?). The Motorvation instructions are confusing to me. looking on line I get some photos and instructions better suited for me. However I contacted a couple of folks who do not agree with my excitment for the Spider. I like the 1928 Harley Davidson sidecar look. I have had issues with the install. That is because I am not familar with the setup. But I got help from Gary at Motorvation who was more than willing to help.
Q: does anyone have an issue with the frame set up, or the Spider it self?
Since I have no other experience with a sidecar.
Any feedback welcom

Hi Walt, I'll send a friend's contact info in a PM. He has experience with a Spider but it's been several years. He'll be glad to talk with you though...

Welcome to the forum Walt. A rule we have around here is "Pics or it didn't happen!" 😀

The Spyders are great sidecars though limited in passenger space. The original instructions may be confusing since the strut positioning is dependent upon the original bike application. Since the frame is integral and not a separate component there are only certain reinforced places in the body that can be drilled for attaching the strut mounts.
Other than that mounting is as most other sidecars with a 4 point attachment system.

I have pics but not of the sidecar rig. Ha! only my face. I am going to post a pic before I have it painted. My bike is Red hot sun glo and Smokey Gold but the rig is 2006 HD Colbalt Blue. The time it has taken me to mount it correctly is still up for debate. I tinkered with it tonight and will test it tomorrow.
Thanks for the response.
Walt
