Sidecar museum in Howland Maine
Just learned about this guy www.sidecarsandmore.com/about.html. He is up there in Maine, past Bangor and is a 3 hr trip North from me. (Although a true Mainer would say he is down there.)
I am planning a trip up tomorrow to see his shop and to hear if he has any suggestions concerning my tire wear. I only get 4000 out a pusher and all the wear continues to be to the right of center. If I put much more lean out on my bike I will be flying the chair standing still. I now have well over 2 degrees.
Take some pic's. How far from the USCA national in VT is that, might make a nice side trip.

So how much toe in do you have? What sidecar?

Right side wear usually indicates excessive toe-in if the sidecar is mounted lwith the frame level with the bike unless heavily loaded most of the time. In that case you would also have a distinct pull to the right.

Ed from the museum is gonna be in Burlington for the USCA rally.
He has some interesting rigs there. My favorite was a red Jawa 250. He also had a nice rig for sale. Goldwing 1100 all gone over and ready to roll with a ? (european sidecar) but I forget the name. It was comfortable and had a large locking trunk. Asking $6500. This would be a nice road rig for someone.
Toe in is 1/2 inch on a Liberty Sidecar
After riding it Ed said on a scale of 1-10 it was a ten as far as handling went. We checked toe in and lean. His suggestion was to stiffen the sidecar suspension which is quite a lot softer than what I am running on the bike. I will put a little more air in the shock and maybe run a little more tire pressure on the hack wheel.
