I bought a brand new (in the crate) 2007 Liberty sidecar and put it on my 2009 HD Classic. The car new would be over $8500. I called GEICO today to add it to my policy. They told me thay could only insure it for $3800 (Bluebook value). I told the lady I could not replace the sidecar for that amount and she said there was nothing she could do as they dont offer replacement value. Anyone else out there run into this problem? Are there companies out there that offer replacement value?

I don't have Geico.

My sidecar is insured under accessories, just like add-on saddlebags and such.
See if that is possible.

I wrecked, that's how I found out I should have had more 😉

Talk to Flo at Progressive. They are more motorcycle oriented than most.

I have Foremost on my 2010 Street Glide with towing and $9,000 optional equipment coverage for my Liberty sidecar. $456.00 One year premium.

Progressive wanted a lot more.

Premiums vary greatly from one neighborhood to another. My Progressive policy let me specify the added coverage for the sidecar. They even list the 6 CD changer in the sidecar.

Thanks everyone for the input. Ended up with Progressive. Less deductable, same coverage with $10k on sidecar for $35 per year more than old GEICO policy. I have three bikes insured (09 HD Classic w/Sidecar, 94 HD FLSTN w/liability and comp., 2000 Ural Patrol liability and comp), $250 ded., $300/$300 for $654/yr. I am happy. Thanks again everyone for your input, this is a great website!
