I toying with the idea of getting back to a hack. Had one that I sold a few years ago (which was sold on this site) which was a '78 Honda CB750F with a Velorux 700. Loved the rig but sold it after the kids grew up and dog passed away and wife couldn't ride due to bone cancer.
So after dealing with family matters I bought a '02 VTX1800C to get back in the wind. And of course a new dog wasn't too far behind so now I need a sidecar.

Does anybody out there have this setup that they could send over a pic since I'm not even sure which one yet.

My concerns are since the bike is "so big" would a single seat like the 562 be too small for it, as I really don't want to go with a double. I'm looking at more of a "traditional" style car. Also since the bike has 2" peg extensions and an aftermarket Vance Hines exhaust, is there any thoughts on interference? Being in the South Eastern section of PA is there a dealer/manufacture within a days ride that I could physically look at and have professionally installed?

Or do you think I should look at another bike for the sidecar since the VTX isn't a "sidecar friendly" bike?

Thanks for the help
Ray

I've got a 1300 VTX R model with a Champion Escort sidecar. I've never ridden an 1800 VTX, but they appear to be similar in a cursory glance. It's not "totally" traditional, but it does look good together.
I think it is pictured in my avatar. It handles great, I've never had any handling problems, and it gets a lot of looks whenever I take it out anywhere.

You would not want to have a real light duty sidecar like the Velorex on a bike of this size. We make 12 different models of sidecars that all come with proper bike specific NOT universal mounting hardware. We also have triple tree's to lower the steering effort with the sidecars. One nice thing about the VTX 1800 is that you can run an automotive rear tire on the stock rear wheel.

Here's a VTX1800/URAL Bavarian Classic combo that I set up for a guy's solo trip to Prudoe Bay, Alaska.
He made the trip with the naked bike. Called me from Fairbanks saying all was just fine. Rig was handling great all the way.
