I notice 'Ditch' indicated he had found a Rocket and was eager to start work. I assume that is to fit a chair. I have a Rocket Touring on order (bit slow in Australia) and was wondering given they are touted as having been completely rebuilt sharing only the engine in common with the earlier Rockets, is there anyone out there aware of a Touring with a chair and if so are the fittings greatly different? It is my intention to fit a Watsonian GP700 (dble)

Regards Carey

My "Rocket" is an original 1940s era sidecar built by the Goulding Co. of Saginaw Mich., originally from Melbourne Down Under.

The "Rocket" is arguably the most famous and most sought after sidecar. It looks like a Zeppelin.

Hello Ditch, I apologise for my ignorance, when you spoke of a 'Rocket' I assumed you meant the Triumph type, I have one on order at this time and intend fitting a chair to it, I was aware Watsonian Squire make fittings for the Rocket 3 bike but did not know if the new model, the 'Touring', differed greatly and would require modified fittings. I have learnt something new now, that would be something to crow over a beer, a Rocket attached to a Rocket. Regards Carey

Indeed....a Rocket on a Rocket would might actually fly.

Are you aware of your native son James Goulding? In the late teens and early 1920s 8 out of every 10 Harley-Davidsons sold in Australia came equipped with a Goulding sidecar. He was an amazing person and his story is very inspiring.
