Rider Stories
If your interested, here's a link to the story H-D put together of Archie and me last June. They spent about three hours here making video and interviewing and it's edited down to this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7ezds_harleydavidsonrider-stories-tom-arc_auto
Looks like your dog is having a great time.
I have a large Chessie and plan on taking him for a ride in the sidecar as soon as I get it back from the installer. I think he will like it.
Do you use any type of restraint system?
Fred

Great story Tom

Just great, nothing better than your best bud by your side. Very coolL
Tom, great story. We don't have a dog at this point, only cats. I'm not sure if they could/would sit still long enough to go for a ride. I see lots of information on dogs going for a ride, but does anyone have any experience with a cat?
Hi Fred. I did use a restraint early on but haven't for a few years now. He gets in when I ask if he wants to go and doesn't get out until I tell him it's OK. We've passed all sorts of situations that would cause most dogs to want to jump out and give chase but not Archie. He stays put and watches the world go by.
Never seen a cat riding in a sidecar Loon but there's always a first....

Maddie has to be restrained as she wants to chase every squirrel she sees (and cats too - sorry Loon), and we counted 12 squirrels in the first block on our last ride. But Maddie's not yet 2 years old and only has about 8 rides under her belt; maybe she'll "improve" with experience and maturity.

Great video Tom:
I look forward to finally meeting Archie, and his "driver" at Chelan. 🙂
Ride safe.
Ditto here Gail. We're looking forward to meeting you eye to eye. Not sure Archie knows it but he is too. If you were at Stevenson a few years back, we might have crossed paths. Archie and I were still riding the Ural then while the Harley sat more often than not. We were camped back by the pond next to Snowbum. Sold it to get the Liberty for the Harley when I decided there was no point in resisting any longer...

My son has a huge cat, called a Maine Coon. It has ridden without problems, but I need to qualify that. This is the first cat I have ever seen that is content to lay in the yard all day on a tether. It will also walk on a leash, just like a dog.
Great Story !! Archie looks really happy. Our girl Persis would like to meet him sometime.
He'd like that. Just make the short ride from Maine out to Chelan, WA for the upcoming rally May 14-17 and we'll let them meet! Then you could drop over to the Tahoe rally...
We do hope to get out there ....someday.....one thing on my bucket list is to go out through Canada to Wa . Then ride down the WA, OR, CA coast. and come back hitting most of the National parks. Persis is up for it , but my money mostly comes in the summer, so I will have to save up lots of SS checks if I don't want to do it in the snow.
Good luck making that trip someday. I'd like to get back in your part of the country someday as well but no tellin' when.
We got "guest quarters" for you and Archie if you ever hake it back east to Maine.
