I am trying to sell a 2007 RoadKing w/ HD sidecar for my deceased friend. The bike has on 7300 miles or so on it and my friends wife and I have no idea what this might be worth. Any help would be appreciated the bike is in central Florida

Kelley Blue Book says about $15K on the 2007 RK and $6,200 retail on a TLE sidecar. So, they suggest around $21K. It would be extremely difficult to sell the rig at that price, IMHO.

I would put it on eBay with a reserve and see what happens. There are shipping companies that can ship something like that in one piece. OF course, the buyer would have to pay for that.

Good luck.

Kelley Blue Book and NADA appraisel guide retail pricing is at dealer level. Assuming you are a dealer who has an overhead nut to crack with things like a storefront business, licensing, bonding, insurance, taxes and other costs that accompany a legitimate business. Plus they usually offer time payments, warranties and other considerations of sale.
Individuals don't have these expenses and sell as/is so the potential buyers will expect a lower price than from a dealer.
Kelley and NAPA only poll legitimate dealers and use actual sales prices for their retail pricing figures.

Your RK will sell for an amount somewhere in between the retail and trade-in price schedule.

Thanks I was thinking somewhere around $18 or 19 thousand. I ride a two wheeler but have never had to think about the sidecar before.

I suggest that you look at the sidecar section on eBay. Then go to "completed sales". That will give you an idea of what they are selling for.

In addition, if you read the fine print in those books, it states, "Kelley Blue Book® Suggested Retail Value is the value that is representative of dealers' asking prices for a used car. A starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer".

NADA has a similar disclaimer. To the best of my knowledge, only Edmunds is based on the actual selling prices. Unfortunately, they don't list sidecars.

Starting at $19,500 and accepting $17,500-18,000 sounds about right considering the economy and relatively small market for sidecar rigs.
