Mike, if you are referring to slight amount of play in the sidecar wheel bearing, ours does that too. My experience from back on the farm is a very slight amount of play is preferable to too tight -- but no where near enough play for erratic wheel spin.

Lee.... the looseness you check for is in the bushing that swingarm pivots on.. when you move wheel look over fender at swingarm bushing... there is a big nut on end of bushing.......like you say... all wheel bearings should have slight play when wheel is off ground.....
Mike.........

Oh yeah, the swing arm pivot bolt. It rides not on bearings, but on ?brass? bushings/washers impregnated with lubricating oil -- an invention of Chrysler back in the '30's if my memory serves correctly -- and there must be a slight play. If it's too tight, the swingarm will not move freely. Both our Texas cars "pop" when moved in very tight circles, such as turning around by hand in the driveway: too tight to "pop" = too tight to for proper swing arm movement. I understand the pivot bolt is a harder steel than the swingarm mount.
