The heritage has shorty exhaust on it. I want a long exhaust to get the sound out the back. Does anyone know if the Patriot Defender pipe will fit with the Liberty sidecar on a 98 heritage?

here it is http://www.patriotpipes.com/models.html

I don't know about that but I went to my local muffler shop and had them flare me a 2ft and a 4ft piece of 1 3/4" for my Sporty and made my own brackets. Cost about $30 and now I just need to have them chromed and now I have a chrome shop 2 miles from my work. Now I am one of those guys who likes to make all my own stuff and I dont care if its chrome I may just put heat wrap on them .

thanks, I emailed him to see if any advice is avail. I would like to gain some performance too. I read today the patriot exhaust only gained 1/2 hp on a test bike on another forum.

Hardly worth the extra racket.

I'll have a new set of Vance and Hines slipons for half price very soon. When we started down the "factory rebuild" road back in August, I wanted to go to a 2 into 1 system. Turned out it wouldn't work due to the sidecar mounts. I went with a true dual exhaust from V&H to get away from the cross over pipe that would split out. The V&H is too much racket for me (to use Lonnie's term that I agree with) so we went with slipons similar to what I had on before but kept the "true dual" pipes. Only thing is, my bike is still in the shop. All the mechanical issues were resolved but the sidecar fender got scratched and they've sent it out for repairs. Hopefully I'll have the bike back soon along with all the spare parts.

Jon,
I am currently adding a California Sidecar Friendship 1 sidecar to my custom HD softtail. I have to change my pipes because my Confederate 2 into 1 pipes would not fit with the sidecar attached. Still trying to figure out which pipes thank you for the info on the Patriot pipes. I am leaning to just do a long fatboy 2 into 1 pipe set. Trying to keep it simple. The picture is with the Confederate 2 into 1 pipes still on.
