Greeting to all here on the forum. Have been riding for over 40 years on a variety of different cycles over the year and the wife and I now grace the seat of an 08 UC, only took 53 years to make it this far. Long story short, we are adding a sidecar for several reasons. First, is my boy Brian, who has been living in a wheelchair for over 27 years. He came to live full time with us 4 years ago and I have worked with him in the state system for over 10 years. Second, after working with people with special needs for over 20 years, most of the times were very rewarding, but after two knee operations on a leg a young man, turned around backward, for me. Boss walked by and looked down and said that looks like that hurts, well it did, and still does. Looking to a knee replacement within the next year. And finally I think they look “cool”. I live in Kennesaw Ga., long haired, flute playing, cigar smoking, scotch(single malt) drinking, native American with an attitude, but it a little one. I am on other forums so I do know in advance know to use the SEARCH function, lol. Going with Texas Sidecar, and any info and photo’s would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Welcome! I know you won't go wrong with a Texas SideCar. Strange but motorcycles here are just a means to transport a sidecar. Now why is it that I have no idea what a UC is?

If I had to guess what a UC is, I would have to say Harley Ultra Classic.........Do I win the prize. All joking aside, welcome to the group. Has been a very good resource for this newbie.

Now I have a great reason to head north of the border when the spring thaw sets in.

A TLE or Ultra car isn't the easiest thing for a person with all the'r facilities to get in and out of.
There are many better choices for a handicapped passenger.

Hack'n in a perfect world Brian and I could afford an flip-open style. That would be and could be later down the road, for the time being all I can afford is what I can afford. Also the fact that working with this young man for over 10 years and through the 27 different operations he has gone through I do think I know..........sorry didn't mean to.........well yes I did........as I do know my boy very well.......so thanks Hack'n for your concern........texas sidecar for now..........or Lonnie what is in the price range of the Texas Ranger that you suggest.

thanks
Lance

Spring thaw? It doesn't feel like spring will ever come!!! It seems like a good chunk of the good old US of A is getting a load of Canadian "Sand!"

Lance,
At 165# the Texas Ranger will need 100# of ballast to get to the 2/3 bike to 1/3 sidecar weight ratio desired for a well balanced sidecar rig.
Even that is not taking your weight on the bike into consideration.
A Formula II Motorvation or Kenna Standard would be a better fit with an Ultra.

Nice and warm here in Canada. 48 F (9 C) here in sunny Southern Alberta, Canada. Snow is almost gone, and they had to truck in snow for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Been so warm and rainy there the last couple of weeks making it necessary to ship snow from inland. Snow making equipment cannot keep up............What is going on with this weather???

Nicest summer in years until yesterday....still 25ºC and clouds that do not bring rain.
And I sit here in the office with square eyes. making documentation plans I do normally after the installation not before.
I will fetch some beer out of the fridge and kick them into the sidecar.

Have a nice valentine day.

The new Puppy "Baloo" seems to love riding in the hack.
Best regards from 10ºN,84ºW
