These two Norwegians are traveling around the world on their Nimbus sidecar rigs. They stayed here and are now in Minneapolis BUT are needing a place to stay between Minneapolis and Milwaukee. Any sidecar fans in Wisconsin that can offer up a place to stay for a day? They are GREAT guys, very polite and happy to sleep on a floor. Hotels are expensive and they are on a REALLY tight budget.

If you are interested in having a couple of world traveling Norwegians for a day and are located in Central Wisconsin, please email me at Motopsycho@wat.midco.net and I'll put you in touch.

Oh it has my attention those bikes always amased me with the "flat stock" frames they built the bike around.

There use to be one with sidecar that came to the USCA nationals guy up in Canada by the name of Erling from Thunderbay.

He now travels in a little bit of a more modern sidecar rig 🙂

Lunatic, it might just be the short notice combined with people not always checking this site each day. Do these two have a direction they will be heading after Wisconsin? Maybe if we had an idea of their general route something could be set up along the way to help them out. I know our schedule is way fuller since retirement than before, but with some advance warning we can usually juggle committments to accommodate new adventures.

Don't know about anyone else- but being part Noregian ( my grandfather was a ship's carpenter on the old sailing ships), he setteled in Brooklyn and then got smart and moved upstate to Summit N.Y. and started farming. I find the Nimbus boys ride most interesting! Just wish they were coming thru upstate N.Y. Would like to spend some time chewing the fat with someone from "the old country. Hope their stay in the USA is all they hoped it would be. When the upstate chapter of the antique motorcycle club has it's yearly meet at Brookfield N.Y., there is usually a Nimbus on display. A truly unique bike! I have wondered for a long time what with all the asinine 502 v8 powered "bikes" out there why someone doesn't build a modern (perf. aircooled) four ? Sure would make a great tug. HDHank

I've worked (and socialized) with Norsky Nationals most of my life and they are definitely social creatures with lots of talk story and laughs along the way.
My long time touring partner is Snorskahoovian. We could be hopelessly lost in the desert and he would soon find someone to give us directions on how the locals get out of there to find the nearest saloon.
Yes, some have been known to tip a pint occasionally, but it doesn't slow down the flow of conversation. 😉

(He also taught me the un American trait of actually asking directions when you don't know where the hell you are, or how to get there from here.)

Other, more hospitable, folks stepped up. Guzzi owners, LD riders, Chopper riders, and ADV riders all enthusiastcally invited them to stay. They'll be fine. I would appear that my sidecar will be the only one they see in their visit to the US. When I met up with them, on my hack, they followed me home and then offered me their rigs to ride. I jumped at the chance!
After they make their way across to Vermont they are heading down, along the coast, through mexico to the tip of South America. Quite a ride ahead of them before they leave the US even.

Lunatic, as you probably know, their journey is being followed on the WildGuzzi.com forum:

Lots of folks following their trip and offering help. I contacted Greg when he first posted the thread, and offered lodging in my area (northwest Tennessee) should they have the need. So, between the two of us, they will see at least TWO Yankee rigs~

Yepper, Bill. The Guzzi folks have been WONDERFUL.
Guzzi or not, they;ve been incredibly generous in helping out the Nimbus riders.

I put my name on the invitating list, perhaps our country is a little smaller and they pass by. In 21 years I have met only 3 rigs in this country. And I'd love to ride with them a few miles through the mountains.
The several Nimbus I met back home were all runing strong and I have no doubt they make the whole trip back to Norway.
Best regards
Sven
