Hi all i have wanted a sidecar for a long time and now i have it. I am going to redo it and put it on my 2012 ultra.I think it is a California sidecar friendship 1. It was on a 2007 ultra. I am not sure if the mounts are the same for my 2012 ultra if not maybe some one can tell me where to buy them. And any parts i might need. And all advice is welcome thanks

Welcome Bud!

One of the pros will be along soon to give you details on mounting 'er up. In the meantime, read all you can about the care and feeding of your new sidecar. Here is a link http://www.sidecar.com/links3.asp

A little advice:
- Plan to spend a LOT of time in a near-by parking lot practicing
- Look for and attend a near-by S/TEP class if you can
- Load about 70 pounds of ballast into the car until you are proficient
- Humans and pets are poor choices for ballast while you a learning
- wife's HATE to be called "ballast" at any time!

OldSchool, my wife didn't cotton to the term "monkey" at all either. It was her deciding to give up riding behind me on two wheels that lead to my first sidecar (a Ural because I wasn't ready to give up two wheels yet) years back. Her mind was pretty well made up but the term monkey put the permanent cap on her thinking and no amount of explanation changed her mind. Didn't matter that no one actually referred to her as that either. But... Archie, then Henry, and now Petey never cared what they were called as long as they get to go!! lol...

The 2009 and newer FLH bikes take different mounts then the 2007 as Harley changed the back of the bike in order to allow for a larger rear tire which is good for you as you can also add an automotive tire to the stock rear wheel on this bike.
We can help you with mounts, steering modifications and even reverse if you like.
