Hello everyone. I recently joined the USCA forum and I am new to the world of sidecar rigs. My wife and I became interested in a sidecar set up after taking a sidecar tour during a vacation in Eastern Canada. We enjoyed riding around with our tour guides so much that the same day we decided to get a sidecar rig. I first looked at Urals and even test drove a few and although good looking rigs, I always wanted something different. It took over a year of searching for the bike and the sidecar but it has finally come together. The rig is cruiser based using a Yamaha Vstar 1300 and a DMC M72C for the sidecar. The combination is very stout, the bike has plenty of power and the sidecar is very comfortable for my wife. The steering is a bit heavy and unfortunately triple trees are not made for this bike however it is not so bad that it would make me regret the rig choices. We are looking forward to many fun miles with it.

I would like to give Jay at DMC many thanks for his patience over the last year. He has answered all of my emails regarding sidecar questions and his products for the entire time I have been working on this rig. I am pretty sure I tested his patience from time to time with what to him must have been simple questions that he has been asked hundreds of times before but he always answered them quickly. He also provided invaluable assistance as I installed the sidecar and I thank him greatly for that. The DMC sidecar, at least to me, is very well made and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone that asks me about our sidecar. The bike specific mounts I purchased from DMC were very well made and bolted up perfectly to the bike providing a very clean and custom look.

I will try to post a picture shortly if I can figure out how to do it…still new to way the forum works. πŸ™‚

Welcome aboard. Jay at DMC is great. Have not purchased from him directly but have an "older" tub that he built. We are really enjoying it. Sounds like you will also.
