My name is Bob Kratzer and I live in SW Ohio (55 miles east of Cincinnati)and am definitely planning on going w/a sidecar. After much research it appears the only real option for my 1999 BMW K1200 LT is a Hannigan sidecar with their supplied subframes. I do not care for the larger Hannigan cars and have decided on their Bandito.

My questions are: does anyone out there have a K1200 LT w/a sidecar? Do you recommend the easy steer option? Any suggestions as to other brand cars for my bike? Any and all comments will be welcomed!

Thanks!

Hi Bob,

I suggest you talk to Claude Stanley. I wouldn't be surprised if he could custom-build you something that would exactly fit your needs for no more than the cost of a Hannigan.

Claude just built a dual sport rig for my VStrom that gets a lot more attention than my Goldwing/Hannigan rig does. I love both of them. Just have different uses for them

Thanks, Jack H., for your reply. How do I contact Claude and where is he located? Thanks, again.

Also, I am starting a new thread seeking info about an old sidecar rig.

You might want to keep the Beemer for a solo and go for the vintage rig. At least long enough to find out whether sidecaring is your bag before going off the deep end for the Hannigan car and having no second option.
