Hello Polley,
get into the books section and download the manuals for to read and train conscientiously.
http://sidecar.com/links3.asp

Specially we who have(had) lots of miles on our b__t have trouble in the beginning.

The dangerous moment is when you start to feel comfortable.
Then comes out that....

And you might not make it that time.

Confidence is dangerous because solo and rig pushing need directly opposite reflects!!!!!!

Myself on my once upon the time first day went 3 times straight into the pasture in 145km, next day whacked a roadside plock out of the ground and 3 weeks later made a 3/4 salto mortale in the left ditch... (the rig stood on its number plate and I hung down of my leg with my head in the deep snow like a pig that is about to be slaughtered)

Anyway after very little time you will ask yourself "Why I didn't do that years earlier?"
For sure with a smile from ear to ear.
Welcome in the club and congratulations, Bikergal.

Feel yourself pinched in the arm.
Sven

Welcome to the forums, biker gal.
Remember, there are no stupid questions, but there are some dumb answers.
Just sift through the info here and let common sense be your guide. We're all still learning.

Welcome to the forum. Please do tell us about your Goldwing and Sidecar, and photos would be nice also. Don't feel alone as a newbie around here. Only last month I had a California Sidecar Friendship III installed on my Goldwing GL1800. Lurking is good, but engaging is so much better. You'll learn so much more.

Welcome!! I like what Lonnie said. He is very smart and experienced. Listen when he speaks. That is not to say there aren't other really smart and experienced folks on this forum. It is a broad source of knowledge.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome...unfortunately the seller I was buying from backed out of the deal...I bought the bike through eBay...after paying deposit and making my shipping arrangements seller sends me an email stating 'he has too much going on now...he will let me know when he relist bike for sale'...so he returned my deposit...so now I'm back in the market...

Hello Polley,
"there is no bad that does not come for good."
Costarrican popular saying.

Now you can go think thoroughly through what is what you really pretend to do with your future rig.
Tell us a bit about your personal riding history and what you pretend to do with your rig. Perhaps someone of the ones here can point you into a even more appropriate direction what serves you best.
Anyway the lecture of those manuals will help you a lot about making up your mind.
Good luck.
Sven

Welcome to the slightly off-center world of sidecars BG!

Sorry to hear the rig you were buying fell thru. There is a For Sale section here on the forum which might lead to other opportunities to get a rig to your liking.

I myself have a bit of a soft spot for Goldwing tugs, especially the "Old School" ones! Smooth, quiet (your passenger will appreciate that!), easy to work on and pull like a freight train!
