I have a 90 FLHTC with a HD sidecar with a 89" S&S motor and a S&S G carb with a thunderjet. I only get 24 to 25 MPG. What do you other HD owners get with your rigs? I had it dyno tuned but it didn't help much. Any ideas?

What do you get without the sidecar mounted? It's been a while, but I had an 86 TC with a bone stock mill and I don't remember ever getting much better than that.

YOU need to find a better bike shop to go to. The G is WAY too much carb for that engine. Switch to an E at the leas, or better yet, a stock CV with a jet kit in it. MPG should rise to 28mpg with jaunts into the low 30's,a nd general state of tune should greatly improve. Keeriminy, why would they ever put a G on anything under 100 inches?

I have a stock 01 roadglide comming up to 60000 miles with a california friendship 3 and I generally get around 35 mpg around town and have come close at times to 40 mpg on the road fully loaded.

Then again I know a few people around town that can't get 35 mpg and go through rear tires faster than me.

Around town my 03 Road King/ TLE gets 33-35. Open road about 38. It is an unmodified engine and I'm about 175 lb.

35 to 37 tops without the sidecar on. I had it dyno'ed with a gas analyzer, so it is jetted right. I also thought the G carb was a little big. I may put a CV back on it. I Bought the motor with the carb used, and at a good price.
Sidecar Mike I am thinking of joining SKUNKS, I'm a WI native!

'98 RK/TLE combo with StageII and FI got 40MPG Hiway under 65 and 30MPG at 75. About 35MPG average on the road.
