Well the story starts like this. I decided to put my hack on my larger bike, a VTX 1800 for my trip to Colorado. Dauntless Motors told me when they sold me the mounting kit that it would only take 20 or 30 minutes to swap the hack to the other bike. Well two days later and still no joy in Mudville. So when it looked bad, over 100 degrees for the next few days and no garage to work in, my neighbor stops by to chat. Did I mention that he is in metal fabrication. Well I beer'ed him up as we kicked the tires and shot the chit. Let's just say that my day is much better now. He'll make me anything I need at cost. Best beer I spent in years. He is going to help me make the hack into a quick connect/disconnect safe as ever rig. It also helped that he drove into my yard on his Kubota. As he stated "If they can make a quick connect for a three point hitch then I can make one for a side car. (No he is not a farmer, he has a laser CNC like rig and fabricates metal things).

In the meantime, I still have a sidecar sitting on the ground and two bikes down. One is partially attached to the hack and the other now needs new exhaust gaskets. (Had to remove the pipes to get at the front clamp Dauntless installed). And no I am not bashing Dauntless, they did a good job of installing the car on the first bike

So if you are in the Spokane area this week and know how to align the hack, I have a cold beer in the fridge for you when we finish.

Keep us posted Dave.
Keep in mind a couple of things though. A three point hitch and a sidecar are not one and the same. Yes, sidecars can be detached and remounted fairly easy in some cases but be sure to recheck your setup to see if anything changed. Of course you don't have to but you may find that your rear tire rubber is being left more on the pavement than on the bike.
Above all have fun 🙂

Good luck with it Dave. I'll send you an e-mail off line. Might be able to offer a bit of assistance and take a rain check on the brew...

Well I finally did it, Thanks to Reardan Tom. My sidecar is now on my other bike and awaiting more test runs. I took it for a 1/4 mile jaunt and everything looks and feels good. In fact it feels better than the original setup. So I am now going to take it out for some speed runs, 45 mph and many turns. It does look like I will have to modify my Dauntless mounts though. Seems my car nose is extremely low and to raise it causes the mount to hit my brake pedal. Nothing a sawsall can't fix.
