Well I've got my Texas Ranger sidecar, with a H.D. sub-frame. Now the next question, how much trouble is it going to be connecteing it to a Triumph Bonneville America? They told me a sub-frame for the America was $250.00 but Debria didn't know if my H.D. set up would fit on the America sub-fram she was going to check. I haven't got back to her yet. How'es the ranger going to do on the America. I kind of asked this befor but never could find any post. It may be I didn't profe read what I had asked and it wasen't to plaine. May be this one is better. Rudy

When you get them connected, the Ranger will work well with the Bonny.
Are you referring to a Harley sub-frame (H.D.)? If so, I don't see that fitting the Bonny at all.

Hi rudy: Your America is quite similar to our 883R Sportster in both size, weight and power (except I understand the America's parrellel twin engine is counterbalanced and much smoother). Altho I suspect the smaller standard car might have been a better match for our bike, the Ranger works well. I'm sure the extra weight and width slows our rig down a little, but it happily drives all day at 60mph with a passenger in the sidecar. Also the chain drive on the America should simplify adjusting the gearing should such be necessary. Good luck with mounting your rig. Keep us informed of your progress.

I got the ranger for the H.D. but I just want to put it the America for now. Later it will go on the harley. I understand I will need a diffrent sub-frame. Rudy

I've had clients who went from 1200XL tugs to the Bonnevilles and claimed the Bonny's were more tractable and the overall gearing was better than the Harley's. They preferred the smaller displacement Triumphs.
