I'm thinking about getting a SC for my '07 street glide, and motorvation caught my eye, due to their price and proximity to my home. The spyder looks the best to me, and it's primary function will to cart around my dog on cross-country jaunts when I take leave, and cruise around Sturgis (home).

Any experiences with this SC? I read that their mount system is easily disconnected, but does it leave any gaudy, unsightly bracketry behind?

Also, I'm looking to do some winter riding with it (moreso than I already do, the flhx is year round, even in south dakota). Any experieces with SC in snow?

I'm a new at SCs, but not riding-- any help would be great.

The Spyder will suffice for a smaller dog. They are not that roomy of a sidecar.
The sub-frame required for the Street Glide doesn't allow much ground clearance for right turns and has limited ground clearance with the sidecar attached. Speed bumps and such sometimes cause contact.
I wouldn't figure on a on again-off again sidecar setup. In order to ride as a solo you would also have to remove the sub-frame which is somewhat time consuming.

For snow driving you are only limited by your rear wheel traction.

I'm mechanically inclined, so if it takes me an afternoon to put it on and off, that's not too bad-- I wrench on my bikes quite frequently.

I took a look at your website, and a trip west would be just as easy as a trip east.
What would you suggest for my setup? My street glide is cobalt blue, and hjas stock suspension.

Let your budget and your usage needs be your guide.
For your dog only it doesn't need too many bells and whistles.
The main thing here is to match the sidecar size to the bike and your own idea of what pleases you esthetically.

I would like to find one that is as close to the TLE as possible as far as looks (color match, if not right away, def. eventually).... I could do the 5k that motorvation wants, but if I could find a cheaper unit, I'd be more inclined to pull the trigger-- used/ new, doesn't matter.

Would your co. have anything up my alley? If I were to find a really good bolt on (non-removable) unit, I'd probably hop up a sporty as my bar hopper and leave the street glide all weather touring w/ the hack.

Thanks!

I have a Motorvation Spyder on my Valkyrie. My son and I did our own install. Quite a job! Motorvation was great in support, service, and all.
However, if I were to do it over, the Spyder is too light and small for the Valk. I have properly ballasted it and it works fine but I'm severely hampered by who can ride in such a small car. However, it does work fine for my original intent.
