I have a friend who is looking for a sidcar that would be appropriate for a mid 70s Harley. Does anyone know what manufacturers produced sidecars for HD at this time?

Thank you.

When I had my '76 Bicentennial Classic, a friend had one with a Watsonian 2 person sidecar. There were also a lot of California Friendships out there on big bikes. There was also a guy running around Milwaukee with a Vetter Terraplane.

Appropriate is somewhat in the eye of the beholder.
There were a lot of sidecars produced in the 70's and up until 1984 when Manufacturers Liability laws went into effect. About 200 mfg'rs. dried up instantly that year. Some have reemerged with different vendors and names. Not all are what I would consider appropriate for most of the Harleys of the 70's. Also different cars suit different models of H-D.
Sporty or Electra-Glide for instance, each will accept a different sidecar well. For the Glides a Harley car would look right. For a Sporty maybe a Spirit Eagle would suit the bill.
