Well I do not know how to post this so here goes. Sunday Jan 3, 2009 Stuart Pierce USCA member 6905 and his wife were in a crash with a lady driving a SUV. Some of you know Stu and his wife as they got marred in NC at the Rally. I talk with the wife yesterday Stu lost his left leg below the knee and was out for 5 days. Stu has been a big help to Fla Sidecarest and to me with all his work on the Y’ll come rally. his wife was in the sidecar and came with no problems.

Always sad to hear of an accident and especially the loss of a limb.
Hopefully with today's modern prosthetics, he'll be able to ride again
in 6 months. Serving as a volunteer at my local VA hospital, I've seen
many, many below the knee amputees, many who unless they told you,
walked without a noticeable limp. I do wish the gentleman my best.

I talked with Stu last night and he is taking it well. We talked mostly what we need to do to get his other rig so he can ride.

That is good news Richard. Be sure he knows that the thoughts and prayers are going out to him and his family from many folks in the sidecar world. We will pray for you too buddy.

What does the other rig need? Maybe fellow sidecarists can help with spare parts hanging in their garages.

Our best to you Stu and to your family as well. I ride with a long time friend who lost his right leg up high in a farming accident in the early 60's and it doesn't slow him down any. Here's hoping you'll enjoy many years of riding yet to come.
