Well, it't taking a while to get the pieces together. The last piece, a subframe came in Friday. Spent yesterday in the garage putting the subframe on. It has seven bolts attaching it to the bike. I took my time and had it on in about four hours. I thought I would get it on in a couple. I had to take several breaks to cool down a little. Put on quite a show for the barn cats. They're not used to the garage door being open like that, and came up to see what was going on. I uncrated and arranged the sidecar after finishing. Hope to have it together and first alignment done by this afternoon. "Let the games begin" Bob

Good luck Bob! Sounds like you are approaching things the right way - take plenty of breaks and don't be afraid to back up and redo something.

What sidecar (kit?) do you have and what bike are you using?

and where, specifically, in the high plains of Texas are you? 🙂

Steve, I am putting a 563 Tour Velorex on a 01 Sportster. The poor thing has just sat in the corner of the garage for the last couple of years. I felt like this was the way to utilize it. I live 70 miles east of Amarillo. A small town named Lefors.

The Velorex or the Sportster? 🙂 Just kidding. Lotsa lotsa out towards Lerofs, I'm guessing. Keep us informed Bob - there is no shortage of folks who will have something to say...

steve,
I was at the rally in Beaver with a 01 sportster and a 652 Velorex. I rode it on a road trip to Maine and back, 3300 miles and it did fine. Is your sporty the 883 or the 1200 or???

Apparently Dauntless does.
I prefer fabricating bracket mounts where needed on the Sportys but to each his own.

Preacher, It's a 1200C. Orange and black, Harley's racing colors. It's a nostalgia thing. I would of killed for one when I was a kid. It was wrecked when I bought it. I'm proud of it. It's pretty neglected anymore as I have a larger bike for my road trips. Bob

Preacher, I should add that I saw a picture of your bike and liked the looks of the sidecar mounted on it. One of the things that steered me to this brand. I would also like folks to know that Lonnie C. has been holding my hand for me the last few days. I am almost ready to cross the street by myself now.
