Greetings,

I have decided that within the next year I want to add a SC to my 2008 Yamaha Venture. Yup. Always wanted a SC, although the other half said "I won't ride in it! Well, in 14 years I never listened anyway.

I have been reading everything I can on the subject and I'm sure I will be asking stupid questions. My first order of business is locating the mounting hardware and what will be needed. I can find used SC but if you can't mount it what's the point.

To date Texas Sidecar has the one I want however a price increase June 1 st is putting the purchase farther back at this time. They have pictures of a Venture with a SC and I love it. Hopefully they supply the mounting hardware.

I'll continue to read all I can and look forward to the advice given here on the subject.

Thank you.

tt

If you order the Texas (Ranger?) for your bike it will come with the correct mounting kit and instructions on mounting and setup.
If any problems arise, Bob will walk you through them.

Thanks all. I want to give Texas Sidecar a call tomorrow. Plenty of questions to ask.

Also checking on the Side Effects front tree although I prefer not to change the tree assembly.

Obsolete Spirit Eagle or Spirit of America- Late 70's or '80.
140# light suspension and lightweight mounts.

Welcome. Hopefully your significant other will come around. Mine hated MC's and the whole idea of me owning one but when I went hack she got in and loves it. Falls asleep, knits, reads, etc.

Just received an email from Bob. Venture mounts are an additional $350.00. I found a Ranger six (6) hours from me but can't get a reply from the seller. Dang. Has the wrong mounts but the price is right.

In all probability most of the sidecar's mounts will be usable and you should be able to order the rest from Bob (or elsewhere) instead of buying the complete Venture mount set.

Bob told me that if I can get the serial number of the SC for sale he can then tell me what I need. The ad states "call me" but no phone number listed in the ad. duh!
