Interest in sidecar

Hello to all! I am new to this forum and hoping to get some information about adding a sidecar. I have an '86 1200 Goldwing se-i that I am no longer comfortable with riding on two wheels. I bought a voyager trike kit and bolted it on, but did not like it at all. I really do not want to add a full trike kit and change the integrity of this classic bike. I'm not sure that my wife would like a hack as she loves the back of our 1500 motor trike. I'm thinking that if I add the sidecar I would have a little more stability and I could also take my grandchildren for rides and maybe train our dogs to ride.
I have found a newer Velorex 562, but I am wondering if this would work on a 1200 goldwing or would it be too light? Am interested in any insight anyone can offer before I persue this too far. Thanks in advance.

Don't put a 562 on the 1200GL. No one will make a sub-frame for this combo as the 562 is too light and the suspension will not support an 800# motorcycle.

Thank you for your reply. I thought I had read something about the velorex being too light and the attachments collapsing. At least now I know that I don't want to persue that deal. I haven't found much info yet on what will work on a 1200GL. I will keep researching and reading and hopefully will learn a lot more. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I agree with Lonnie on the Velorex on the GL1200. We do make bike specific mounts and can supply them for many different sidecars, they come with most of our sidecars. Our least expensive sidecar is our Kenna at only $3695 which includes the mounts for your bike.
If you do find another sidecar, give me a call before you buy and we can go over if it is a safe match up.
BTW your Voyager kit is not legal in many states as your bike now has 4 wheels and as such is now a car. Washington state does ticket for this.
