I wonder if the name has anything to do with Bart Markel of motorcycle racing fame?

i used them for many years when i lived in NY .i never had a claim with them so i can't tell you how they are when you have an accident.

when you insure your bike make sure you have enough accessory insurance .Most Insurance companies consider sidecars an accessory.if you have $1000 accessory insurance you only get $1000 for the sidecar.when i insured the 88 HD and sidecar the agent pointed this out i upped it to $5000 .when i was hit i was able to replace the bike and sidecar.

i changed from Markel to progressive because when we moved to Jersey Markel did not sell insurance in NJ.
