Hi Tom, sure, I intend to stick with it and I realize it's just a small number of people envolved in this thread. I just had to butt in on their conversation and put my two bits in because it sounded so much like what is going on with a long time group that is near and dear to my wife and me. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy riding on three wheels instead of two. And I wasn't sure if Archie would take to it. I had hoped that my wife might get back into the swing of the M/C thing if she could ride in the sidecar. Well, two out of three ain't bad. Archie loves it and I got hooked on the Ural. Now I'm wanting to put a sidecar on my Harley. Sooo... we'll see what happens regardless of how any USCA votes or politics are handled.

As a new member of the board I'm not real clear on who has been bickering with who or what they have been bickering about. And I don't care that much about it either.

I do want to be on record that my primary incentive to run for office was to open procedures for all members to see and make the voting process transparent. I understand that it took an invitation to observe on racdis if not a board member and I strongly feel that was wrong. All members should have full observation access without having to ask. Possibly some of the officers more prone to petty bickering whould be shamed enough by their actions to curtail them if they were required to whine in public.

I am not an expert in procedures but I simply cannot see the conflict in allowing the board to vote on their own schedule rather than at the convience of the president. One requirement of the proposed polling system should be that the vote remains open until all board members respond. If all members can't be cajoled into voting on an issue then it probably should be called for a vote at a regular meeting. I suspect when the club was formed, even Al Gore had not yet contemplated how the internet could serve the needs of an organization such as ours, and as an official of this organization I feel it is a shame to not make full use of its potential. If we have to make some changes to the constitution for this to happen, it's time to stop bickering and make it happen.

I'm new here, but I will bark up about all this bickering. There are new members and old that are wondering why no one is answering there posts in Technical board, and it is to no surprise that you are here bickering. Please stop, and answer some of the MOOORRREEEE important questions, like what kind of bearings would be best on a rig, etc. A vote for a manual is nothing compared to the safety of someone looking for advice from some obviously very knowledgeable people. It is obvious you are passionate about USCA, and that is commendable. Please don't leave bad tastes in new members, like myself, who is watching this post grow and grow, and seeing others completely ignored.

Thank you

Your post is appreciated. You fail to recognize the importance of the issue however. The vote in itself is insignificant. There are many ways for me to give my sidecar traininfg manuals to every new USCA member if I choose to, or to any person, period. However, if the BOD cannot use the e-vote on any issue then it will be very difficult to conduct any business of any kind. An urgent resolution must therefore be found for this issue as soon as possible so that the USCA can conduct normal business. That is an issue that is being worked out as we speak so that we can go forward without these issues. At least that is my understanding. However, I am not a spokesman and do not speak for the BOD. Just a friend, I hope.

Hal,
Everything that you have done past, presant and future is greatly appreciated.
I can only hope that the board members can regroup and move on with the things that need to be completed.

let's keep fighting among our selves. pretty soon we won't have any new members to worry about including a cd in their membership packet.

Yep. I still feel the same way regardless of any current pissing matches. 16 years later.... And I've had the Liberty on the Harley for a loooong time and lots and lots of miles and smiles.
