Identification Help Please?
Hi! My husband rides a Harley, but we're ready to buy a sidecar (not for his Harley, but as its own entity!), and need to be able to accommodate our two little boys (ages 3 and 4) in the hack. We've been researching intensely for awhile now, and will probably end up purchasing online. Could someone please identify this sidecar for me, and give me an honest opinion as to holding our two kids? (I think it's a Friendship model but am a bit confused about Friendship I vs. Friendship II vs. Friendship II SE?). And will my little guys fit? Thanks so much in advance!
(And if anyone has a set-up for sale, feel free to let me know--I posted in the "Wanted," area yesterday but haven't gotten any responses yet).

FS II depicted. It has a bucket type seat that isn't ideal for two to use. The seat can be easily changed though.
It will then work for two not so large kids.
A Motoervation Formula II or Kenna Double would be a better choice for two passengers.

Thanks Lonnie--I appreciate your time. We were really leaning toward this bike, and the owner said that it could fit an adult + small child or two kids. *sigh*. But going back to what you said about changing out the seat--do they make a seat for the Friendship II that would give us more space, or is it something we'd have to have customized?

No factory optional seat available you'd have to improvise. A Kenna Standard seat might fit.

Thanks--this is a great help. How about this one? This seller says this is a Hannigan, but isn't sure what model it is. We've determined that it could be an Astro GT or a Sprint. Any insight?

If I remember right, the Astro seat was designed after a Honda Accord Bucket seat, so it will depend on the size of your boys.
I just had my 18 year old grandson and his 13 year old sister in here this weekend. They said they were not crowded.
It's a California Friendship 3, which uses the same frame as the Friendship 2.
The same basic frame design as the FS II, but maybe a bit wider?

1993 Goldwing GL1500 Aspencade & Motorvation Formula II LTD in rigs for sale. Frendship I and II will be too small on 2-4 years. Look for double whide sidecars.

The one time I was actually able to talk to a sidecar guy at CSC, it was about the difference between the Goldwing frame and the one for all other bikes. He explained the difference in length, and suggested I find a used frame. He said "Your body (Friendship 3) will bolt up to any Friendship 2 or 3 frame without modification, as long as it was made for a Goldwing."
I took that to mean they used the same frame.
The FS II and FS III for the GL's have the same frame extension (unlike the models for Harleys and other short bottom framed bikes) and the same mount setup, but the frames must be wider to accomodate the wider body.
