Hello from new member
Just what’d to say, Hi! and introduce myself.
I'm a new member to sidecar.com but not new to sidecars. I'm a Triumph nut with 27 years of riding and have four years of driving a rig. Our first one, a Bingham Side Strider on a 1971 Bonneville, which I just sold to purchase a 2000 Motorvation Spyder. I'm very pleased with the purchase and have spoke with the people at Motorvation on the setup. The Spyder is going on a 04 Triumph Thruxton. I loaded a photo for all to see. An advice or help on this setup is welcome.
Best Regards, Shawn
Hello Back Shawn. Saw your rig on the TriumphRat.Net "Sidecar Project" thread. Very nice. I liked your T120 rig as well. (I was on that site researching the Thruxton as a potential next bike.)
Welcome! That's going to be a good looking rig. Every time I see a Spyder, I want one. That Thruxton looks pretty good too...
Shawn,
Motorvation's Spyder is one cool sidecar no doubt. It will be great on that Triumph too. As far as advice goes you won't go wrong talking more to Motorvation. They are great to work with and very service oriented.
Have fun and post often.
B_P,
I’ll miss the T120/Side Strider but it sounds like I made a very good choice in purchasing this sidecar. A Thruxton as a potential next bike for your self.....I love mine and have made lots of mods to it. The first thing I noticed was the riding position, very aggressive. I traded in an 03 Triumph Speed Four and on the Thrux you are over the tank still more. My palms and wrists really notice it, so I changed the grips to the old style and got use to the riding position. Everything else would be positive about the bike.
Stevewoo,
Thanks for the complement.
Claude,
I was fortunate to get the Spyder, even after the cash was in the seller’s hand I had to pry the unit away from him. I’m waiting impatiently for the instruction and photos from Motorvation to get this setup together. They do seem very service oriented and have already been helpful over the phone and I haven’t bought a thing from them yet.
I’m considering Motorvation's folding step as my riders are my two sons, of 5 yrs & 8 yrs. Another item I think I should be getting is the tonneau cover.
I see you’re in PA. I’m making my first trip with this rig to PA in May with a group of Triumph riders from London, Ontario.
Shawn,
We are located in the bustling metropolis of Penns Creek, Pa.. The International corporate headquaters of C Stanley Motorsports Inc. is in a 40 x 100 building right behind the convenience store which has the only gas pumps in town. This is all baout 50 miles north of harrisburg between Middleburg and mifflinburg on route 104. Let me know before you all come and I'll alert Jim Beaver of the British Embassy Motorcycle Club. They all ride brit bikes except for Doc who sold his left mount steib /vincent to buy a Harley/Spyder rig. Could have a British motorcycle day at the shop or something. Come before dark as most of the guys like to ride in the daytime if you know what I mean. We'll leave a light on for ya though.
